Hey! Let me Introduce Myself!

My name is Hunter Locke and I am the owner and craftsman behind Black Tenon Furniture.

I have always been drawn to creating art and exploring new mediums. When I discovered woodworking, I immediately knew it was where I belonged. To jumpstart my career, I took several incredible classes and courses at The Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport, Maine. Immersing myself in that environment, I learned from experienced furniture builders and honed my skills. After that, I worked directly with a successful furniture maker in Portland, Maine. Eventually, I decided to take the craft into my own hands by designing and building pieces for myself and my clients.

I believe that strong craftsmanship and thoughtful design are the foundation of every great piece of furniture. That belief inspired me to branch out on my own and develop my own style, using the techniques and skills I gained while learning and working alongside others.

Currently, I take on custom projects and am steadily growing my collection, one piece at a time.
